Photographer Kim Gottlieb courtesy gave us the permission to publish 3 of her superbe Marley portfolio “I photographed Bob at his home on Hope Road, in performances in L.A., Santa Barbara and elsewhere, the cover of High Times magazine. This is the photo with Bob and Charlie Nuccio and George Harrison: this was backstage at the Roxy…and my husband, Jeff Walker (Island’s head of publicity at that time) had just introduced George Harrison toBob Marley. The meeting was arranged by Charlie Nuccio because he had been with Capitol Records previously and new George wanted to meet Bob (when Bob met another Beatles, Ringo Starr, his reaction was: “Ras Beatle!”) The b&w performance was from Santa Barbara (1976)and the color was a High Times cover I shot.”
