View Full Version : BOOK Question???
HI,
Does anybody know what was the first book published that focused on Bob and not reggae in general?
Does anybody know of an earlier book than Cathy McKnights-Bob Marley, The roots of reggae? That book was published in 1977.
Thanks for any help--joe

No-Reggae Routes is far far from it and the first link you provided was to Kate Simons great book. That one should be released in a cheaper paperback form some time soon.

The one Jack linked to ebay may be one of the first, It says it was published in 76 which would make it the earliest I have seen (not including the Rasta Vib chord book--1976). I will have more info when I get it. But, it seems to be a self published book, no isbn # etc... So The Cathy McKnight one I mentioned earlier may be the first worldwide published bio type book although, I do not know about the book by Jonathan Green that Marco posted. Marco could you tell me more about this book.
The "Rastaman Vibration" songbook is more just guitar chords but there is a little intro that tells some of the story by Heather Harris. That was pub in 1976 and is a nice book to own.
"The Bob marley & The Wailers Songbook" was pub in 1981 and is also special b/c of the inclusion of Forever Loving JAH. Both books are by Alamo
