This wonderful version is know as one of the best if not the best ever of this song. Many says it comes from Kingston 1980, but Wya Lindo says it comes from Stutgart, Germany, June 1980. Someone know more?

The version on Uprising is beatifull, but it is an albumversion. The best live version i have heard is also the version with wya. And i also think and almost know for sure that this version comes from jamaica. I think the other clip (as on legend) with bob singing in two mikes with yellow shirt maybe comes from germany?

I personally prefer a full accoustic version of the song. I don't like the studio bandversion of this song (vocals and musically). The problem with the live versions (for example pittsburgh) is that at the end of the song the band join and for some reason i think that it don't match very well but that is my opinion.

So the studioversion is the best for me and the best live version is from jamaica. The version on legend is also good but the vocals are recorded badly (not bob's vocal but the recording of the vocal, something wrong with the mikes?) i also like the version from essexhouse.......

I agree I don't like the live versions and I don't like the band versions
my favourite is this lindo/marley acoustic duet recorded in jamaica in 1980
and I like the original version on Uprising (I think it's not recorded badly... it's the particular sound with a little echo of the tuff gong studios)

Hi Marco my friend,

I think there is a misunderstanding. The albumversion is beatifull recorded, nothing wrong with that. The one that is badly recorded in my opinion is the version on the legend video/dvd. The clip where bob is singing with his yellow shirt/two mikes (germany?) Not the studio version as apeared on uprising or the legend CD. That version is beatifull recorded but i was talking about the sound on the redemption song clip on the legend vhs/dvd, but not the clip with wya!

the best version imho is from Dijon 1980... with the second part the band version... great!

Zurich 1980 must be a great version too (the first ever)... I just fear we'll never hear a recording of it...
