I need exact info about the airing of the 7-minute "Get Up, Stand Up" video from the Reitstadion in Munich on June 1, 1980... does anybody know the following info:
- exact date of broadcast
- name of the program ("Pop/Rock"??)
- TV channel (3sat? ZDF?)
- any other further info
thanks a lot in advance for any kind assistance!
Maybe like this? Originally aired on ZDF-2, and later repeated on 3sat and ZDF Musikkanal (Vormittagsprogram).
3sat started to air in 1984, so I assume it was on TV earlier.
Could be from a Rockpop special, will ask some people in Jahmany if they know more.

3sat started on January 1, 1984, as "ZDF 2" and was later renamed to "3sat" on December 1, 1984. I need to know the date of broadcast and the program name, either from ZDF or 3sat...
looking forward to it, thanks a lot! this info might be a "way to highest reward"...! ;)
I was the one who circulated the upgrade of this video (which was torrented recently at RT and screwed up by the uploader) since I got hold of a VHS master recorded from the original broadcast. The original broadcast was soon after the show happened, I think during the summer or fall of 1980 (sorry, don't have the exact date) as a part of the "Rockpop" TV program.

Only GUSU of the Marley set was aired in "Rockpop" plus a Fleetwood Mac song from the same festival. The ZDF will not copy any of their footage for you (unless you are a journalist and willing to pay for that.) Been there, done that.
The only thing you'll get from them is a copy of the RockPop TV program as it was broadcast, but as I said it doesn't include anything else from the Marley set.

I remember you also told me that the Swiss TV wouldn't give me a copy of their archival material about the Zurich concert... but if you have good contacts you "can make it work"... :P
anyway, thanks, joachim, seriously appreciated! if anybody else knows any further info please get back to me...! thanks!
Not sure what I told you about Swiss TV. :P
By the way, the host of the RockPop program mentions that they had filmed the complete festival, so let's hope that's true and the masters are still around. Unfortunately I have never seen any other footage of this show, even the Time Will Tell docu only included fragments of the GUSU clip.
hey Swiss!
sorry, don't have any more info on the GUSU in M?nchen.

is there any news about the Zurich show (audio or video)?

anyway, thanks a lot for the upgrade, since you were the one bringing it in circulation, thx!!!

well, that sounds good. in the GUSU clip you can see that there are at least three or four different camera angles, and since it seems they also filmed the Fleetwood Mac set it is very likely they filmed the entire concert...
chances are :)

Joachim:
do you know who has the rights on the video? I don't mean the aired clip, but the whole footage. was it a private production, or was it the ZDF who produced it?
thanks a lot in advance for your input!

Nope. Sorry, I really don't know who holds the rights for the original footage.

I thought people were reporting that the clip didn't have sound or the sound was out of sync.
