Re: Special request from junior marvin

OK>>
Hope this message finds you Junior..

I am fascinated with Lenox Massachusetts. june 1978.

Unique relaxed joyful .. rare live tunes... lots of time and space.. .. the ultimate Show? very important one I think... I think it demonstrates the direction Bob Marley and the wailer would like to have gone if the world was just a bit gentler. and if the universe did not plan to take bob from us..

Its a joyful relaxed presence.. only i feel in the darby pennsylvania show.. my question is..

Why ? what made that show so particular special??? in terms of what was goin on. in the band .. in the world etc..
thanks

Jeff

Two weeks ago i met Rojah and for more than 2 hours we were chatting about Bob.
He claimed that Crystal Palace audio recording exist and he have it. he was suprised when i said its pretty rare show, he was thinking it is common one. Today he flight back to his house to Los Angeles and hope he will tell more. He refused my question bout 'sun is shining' thing, but it was possible that this song was just-a chilling for audience before.

He also told me about this 'secret santana's tape' that still some people think the live shows were taken somewhere live from mid 70's. Nah, he just prepeared it using audience reaction from his friends live recording from Carlos Santana show. So its just studio stuff.

Also he told me great stories about my favourite song Bass is Heavy along with Slogans and so on..

Also if i remember well there are early and late live Upper Darby recorded shows, so the common one is? Bob's mother attended the first one by the way.

About unheard recordings that never came out his house are for sure more than 40 alternate studio versions of Waiting in Vain (confirmed written by Tyrone). He claimed one of them has best, he ever heard, guitar solo.

just think about it!

anyway here is what I had tried to send:

Greetings Junior from South Africa

Thanks for your request. I’m a great Wailers fan and I will be looking forward for your book. I think I’m curious about many things. Anyway, for now I was wondering about something after listening to some live shows. We know the Wailers almost never played one song the same way, especially over different tours. How much of the ‘changes’ were spontaneous? Like did the songs all go as rehearsed or you could play around with them even during a live show?

That’s it for now. I will ask more
