Re: Marley Film Reviews
yes joe.. thanks.. I cannot complain about the movie itself really.. it is really great and covers a lot of material very well and reveals a very new deep dimension to the man.. im just griping because im hoping that they will release a live show dvd at some point and i guess if we dont say anything nobody will get around to it..
but anything new from bob .. is a blessing.. furthermore.. the film seems a real catharsis for the family itself.. i doubt it is easy for a family to know how to handle the business legacy of the worlds greatest person.. and they are doing a remarkable job overall.. it cannot be easy for them..

Re: Marley Film Reviews
Was just going to post, beat me to it. I agree with what Bunny says. I posted a video previously of a fellow rasta at the premiere about it also. Regardless who was responsible for it, there had to be people (family included) that knew about the colors as a carpet and decided it was ok. Complete disrespect.
Like i also stated before, I'm sure the family had a big say in how it was edited and was allowed to be said. Did Bunny really think all his words would end up in the film? Again going back to the beginning of the thread, like joe and others said, there are things missing about bob's "life" that should have been talked about more and things that should have simply been included in the film. Think I'm going to sit down this week and watch it for my 2nd time.

Tyrone Downie:
Several people have been asking me why i didn't participate in the "MARLEY" Documentary/Film, my answer is very simple I refused to contribute to this film because my name is not Marley, it is Tyrone Downie a member of Bob Marley and the Wailers, if there is a film on BMW i will be more than willing to contribute, Burning Spear said "No one remembers Marcus Garvey" I say no one remembers that Bob Marley was with the Wailers, he could not have achieved all his Mediaised success or record sales or change the world alone, he had company
Tyrone Downie
there was a French Journalist, Helen Lee who wrote in her book that I did not attend Bobs funeral because i felt guilty that i gave Bob cocaine and it killed him, I did not go because I couldn't stand the sight of the Politicians and police hovering over his cadaver like vultures and the Bob i knew would never have liked that, i think he would have preferred a simple funeral with his family and close friends and not a Babylonian type cinematic event

Re: Marley Film Reviews
Thanks Nadia,
I agree an interesting take on it. I'm always surprised when i see either Wailers band play. Its always to a pretty small crowd, considering I live in nyc. You can tell everyone there loves those songs just as much as I do, but its something about seeing them play and while its not every member, its that "wow these guys were actually on the stage with bob". For me seeing Fam's up on stage playing Heathen is something you can't replicate. I agree with Bunny and Fams and everyone else that I don't think they do and probably never will get their due reward, but thats a whole other topic
