Answered: GIRO DE ITALIA

Nobody talk about Giro de Italia. No here and no "Fuori Tema" Section.
I love this sport. More supporters in Basque Country. We have champions in Italy (Indurain), and podiums too (Olano, Osa...)
All my life I have respect from good italians from felice Gimondy today. My favourites Franco Ciocholi and Moreno Argentin. The unforgetable Marco Pantani.
Today I like Alessandro Pettachi, the second VIP from La Spezia

yes petacchi from la spezia
here in italy there are so many problems about this sport... because of the doping... our best champions had and have problems with doping: marco pantani, ivan basso among others... and cipollini has some problems with tax payment
it's not a good moment for this sport in italy

Yes so disapointing. It was my favorite sport for years. I've done a lot myself, for isntance crossing all Basque country!
Doping has spoiled everything. There are very severe controls now in France -> result is there is never 1 French in the first 10 of every race. No Frechmen is able to win a Grand Tour for years now and it will be the same for many years. This is a statistical proof that others are really doping, I can't believe that Frenchies has suddendly become so poor.
Situation is also touching Italy now. Apparently Germany also.
The attitude of the US champions is so disgusting, especially Armstrong: the best he does is supporting GW Bush now. We don't ever know who has won the Tour de France last year, finally!
For the moment, it seems that Spain is on another planet, they can do whatever they want. It is true that cycling is so popular in Basque country. But the fall will come too there and the reaction of people will be even stronger, I bet.

Yes, kazo. Is the true.

The actually problem in Spain is Football. The Doctors of cycling work with football players.

Padilla, doctor of Indurain, work in the end 90?s with athlets of marathon (before padilla unknows, with Padillo Champions of the world). Today is doctor of Athletic Bilbao. All in basque country know this "rare" team. But football is the great bussines (TV, marchandising....). I think is for that Indurain is TOP SECRET

The Giro wasn't very interesting this year, but I look forward to the Tour. I don't care about doping anymore, just enjoy what I see. Too bad though the Dutch haven't got the talent anymore to be in the top. Maybe too because most don't shoot up.

Will Vinokourov win?

When I was younger (I'm 46) I remember I had been in the Pyreneas, close to where I grew up. They were a race, kind of race for young guys, before they are able to race the Tour de France. It was called Tour de l'Avenir.
That day it was a race against the clock between Lourdes and Bagn?res.
I remember I was on the side of the road and I saw this young guy. Completely unknown to me. So strong. A young Spanish espoir. He won the race that day, then the Tour de l'Avenir. His name was Miguel Indurain !!!

What a sadness today with Vinokouroff positive and all the Astana team fired out!
And Rasmussen the leader highly suspect ...
And no one knows who finally won the 2006 edition

They are killing this sport I loved, they are killing my child dream. I hate those who do that.
And no one speaks about the non-leaders. Those are racing like crazy in all mountains except the last of the day, of course, for their leader. What they do is amazing. They are at more than 40km/h in mountain. And at the end they disapear, clearing the way for the leaders. They have very few chances to be controlled. Rasmussen's guys are killing the race that way, exactly as Amstrong was doing. Clever but disgusting.

The fashion is to have complete blood exchange in the nights !!!!

The only way for me: strictly forbid any medical staff in the teams. Having a unique, officially appointed by the Tour, medical antenna. And everyone is obliged to go through this medical antenna, no other way.

Vino, so stupid that he thought he could get away with it.

Chico my friend, if you think that I'm sad you are so manipulated. France is probably one of the country where the people are the less national. Try to find a private house or garden, or a car, with the national flag.
You can't say the same thing of US, and .. Nederlands.

The French team Cofidis has been fired too last night.

I listened to Danish journalist few days ago saying that in Denmark they were very troubled.

The story is not that. The story is the dispute between UCI (which indirectly get founded by Lance Armstrong and which was ruled as a dictatorial way by Verbruggen, a very trouble man) and the Society of Tour de France. This STF has done a lot to have a clean tour but UCI has not been fair. For instance, why did they never informed STF of Rasmussen's liar (Rasmussen escaped controls in Denmark by saying he was with his wife in Mexico, whereas we know now that he was secretly training in Italy) before the Tour started? If they had done so, Rasmussen would have been set away the Tour. Instead UCI informed the media after Rasmussen won the yellow jersey. Last night, the pressure for Rabobank was enormous, the risk of bad image too. They convoked Rasmussen and ... he confessed. He got fired.
