any reason why he should NOT have played on it? ok, I can't remember having heard that before, either; on the other hand, not much has been written about the production of "Burnin" anyway...but at one point the writer makes indeed a mistake: he says that the basic tracks had been recorded at marley's tuff gong studio...however, that studio would not be set up for another six, seven years to come

but reading on in that post
talk about 5 or 6 take's of vocal
but did'nt happen...what a pity...
sure would love multi track's for all island album's
be so much fun , seen's island mixdown many version's
then decide what is best...if multi track mix's existed though for entire

did you know island censored burnin album ?
yupp that is right censoreship was put on peter tosh's
verses and from 1973 too 2008 they actualy release the song
finaly uncensored , but i knew of this long time ago virgin still
though have tosh on censoreship for that one verse...

what is the verse's ? "don't be no nigger in your neibourhood now"
and " don't be no nigger now because that would'nt be very cool now".

too actualy hear tosh uncut version of the later version
of get up stand up you will need to aquire or you prolly have "Equal Rights Jamaican Mix 1977" or "cbs tape 1977" too buy uncut well it isnt in no shop...

just bit side info i though i throw and add too this post.

i wanna make last comment on final island mixdown release of burnin'
great article again but i felt i should come back and say what i think
on there final "mixdown".

burnin' album on a whole great song's lyric's etc...
album show's all three wailer's on this one unlike
catch a fire just tosh and marley (mostly marley still).

island introduce 3rd member on burnin' album
and that song

bunny cut , i think
was good before actual overdubbing from island
you listen to offical and how bring bunny wailer's voice in to the "mix"
they put sound of a gong in front and that doesnt no way fit totaly
throw's song right of scale...

over dubbed and the backing vocals on duppy conquer are way too high

and very much go over bob's voice and again these mixdowns are what island
feel are best hence offical status...the rest album though...fantastic...

i feel island got a little bit like jad records on this album
way too much over dubbing and not much thought...

isalnd re issue this album once again but in catch a fire way
2 cd's i say cd 1 actual 8 track orignal demo's, cd 2 actual island mixdown's.

there is a saying "orignals are always the best" and some time's it fit's and some time's it don't...on this album how ever i think that saying fit's.

also ! about tosh's get up stand up censore ism skism on get up stand up
well all tosh is saying is don't be stupid or slow or be what the shystem want you to be or outcast and brand you to be..

i thought this over alot, and i think that is what he actualy ment
plus make's sense go listen for your self then tell me what you
