Unanswered: Bob Marley and Writting Songs

From what I have been told by many personal accounts from ex girl friends of Bob's to people who have tour with the Wailers. Bob was a great writer and wrote lots of songs but he wrote most of the songs more with a communal approach. Were everyone gave ideas lyrics and chrods for songs. Just two examples Wya Redemption Songs and Seeco with Work. I have been told Bob would pay people from the ghetto if they had a great song idea. So people would come up all the time to Bob in Jamaica maybe come up with a catchy line or even a good idea for a song. I know Zimbabwe came from a guy who acutally visted Bob at 56 hope road in late 1978 or early 1979 from Zimbabwe and had a song he wrote and he wanted Bob to sing it. The Song became Zimbabwe on the album with about 1/2 the lyrcis comming from this man who visted 56 hope road from Zimbabwe. Also unlike what most people have been told Tyrone was the real leader band from 1978 on. In a 1979 sessions Bob and Familyman were in a argument about money and Familyman would not pratice and Tyrone asked if he could replace Familyman. So he brought in a new bass player and Familyman sat out a few weeks during the sessions for Survival. Bob and Familyman finally made up but Familyman was not really the leader of the band any more. The Carton Brothers are very talented but even during the Uprsing recordings Bob really started to experiment with other drum and bass people look at comming in from the cold. I have been told by people who play music, I myself do not play guitar or the drums but they say the Barrett brothers were limiting in some ways on how they played and Bob and Tyrone wanted to expand the sound of the band. I dont know if it would be cheesy 1980 sounds and less roots but you can see that Bob was trying all diffrent types of music just look at the Bosa Nova style of Pray for me and the Rap style of Bass is Heavy.

Yes, this is true
Bob felt himself like "imprisoned" by the sound of carlton and aston
1981 or 1982 would have been a year of change: new label, new agreement, new manager and, may be, new musicians

Re: Bob Marley and Writting Songs

One of the last writers who wrote with Bob was his last "Real" girlfriend her Name is Jennifer Ewers and she owns a resturant called "Brawta" in Brooklyn New York. I have tried to contact her a few times no luck. I might just have to go up to New York and see her myself I know she has lots of photos no one knows about. I have not heard her name or anything come up about her anywhere. I Know that her and Bob were very tight at the end and she might have tapes of songs from 1980 period maybe pray for me? Bob had to pick up his pass port from her house in New York City on the way to the airport to Fly to Germany and get treatment.
