NEWS My New Book. Bob Marley Bibliography

After several years and much help from many friends including several from this website, I finally finished my book, Bob Marley: The Complete Annotated Bibliography.

Roger Steffens wrote the foreword and Stephen Davis gave it a nice blessing for the back cover.

The bibliography contains information and cover photos to over 400 books featuring Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.

My hope is that by publishing this first edition, everybody will be able to check it out and fill in any blanks, correct any mistakes and create a much more complete second editon.

Thanks everybody. Yes Fabio, unfortunately the down side of bibliographies and discographies is that the minute they go to print they are out dated. That is just the nature of them. This first edition went to print before I had info about the Japanese book.

Good work Joe. I know how hard putting a book together can be. I am in the middle of finishing up my Book and Its not an easy task.... That is for sure. So Big UPs..

Jack all I can say is keep on plugging away. There are so many people with either Marley book ideas or starts to books and all I can say is just do it. It took me some time to get over the initial hump with this book but once I did, I got some momentum going and just kept grinding away, just like my friends do on the PGA Tour. Grind grind grind.

To everybody working on a great new Bob book, I say keep on working hard...Jack, Micke, Gael, James etc... These books do take some time and major effort but with some persistance and dreadication you can get them done. Many times it just takes that initial kick in the pants to get going.

The problem I had with this book and other may also have is when to stop and publish. I just figured at some point you just got to end it and get it out there. Like my good friend Glen Lockey said inna reggae riddim "Joe, don't worry about what your book does not have, focus on what it does have." As soon as he told me that, I wrapped it up and got it to the publisher.

I'll worry about what it does not have in the second edition.

So, to all you authors out there, plug away and finish your books. We all need to see the important works everybody is working on sooner than later!!!

YES there is a discount for BMM members. The problem I have in which I found out today is that shipping the book to Europe and UK costs me $10.75 U.S. That is a killer. But it is the cheapest way.

So what I am proposing to all Bob Marley Magazine members is $17.00 U.S. that covers the shipping and is $6.25 for the book well below my cost. Does that sound fair?
