Salve a tutti, qualcuno sa dirmi se esiste ancora lo studio dove bob ha registrato a Londra??? Se non ricordo male era quello della Island Records nei pressi di Portobello ma vorrei sapere se qualcuno ha info più precise e se si può andare a visitare.
Sono graditi anche altri suggerimenti su posti di Londra da visitare riguardanti il King.

Gli Island Studios sono al numero 8 e 10 di Basing Street che dovrebbe essere a Notting Hill... gli studios sono nati su una vecchia chiesa sconsacrata. Aòltri posti da visitare a Londra relativi a Bob sono Oakley Street numero 42, il numero 34 di Ridgmount Gardens, King Street, Bettersey Park, il quartiere di Chelsea in genere etc etc

Sarm Studios are the world-famous recording studios based in Notting Hill, West London.
From 30 June 2011, only long-term bookings will be available for our four studios, restarting a policy that dates back to the 1970s, when Bob Marley lived and worked at Sarm. Current owner Trevor Horn has been in residence since the 1980s and The Prodigy have been working out of Sarm for the past five years.
The studios will also continue as a venue for events, launches, location shoots, private parties, concerts, workshops and training events. Corporate clients at Sarm include Apple, Electronic Arts and, most recently, Nokia's London Loop Workshop.

27 ott 2006 - La prima casa di Londra in cui abitò Bob Marley, giunto nella capitale britannica in cerca di un contratto discografico, fa ora ufficialmente parte del patrimonio culturale britannico. L’emissario di Ken Livingstone, il sindaco di Londra, ha scoperto una targa commemorativa a Ridgmount Gardens, l’indirizzo presso il quale soggiornò il profeta del reggae. L’edificio non è lontano da Tottenham Court Road, all’ inizio della popolare via dello shopping Oxford Street. Marley vi abitò nel 1972 prima di trasferirsi prima in Old Church Street, Chelsea, e poi in Queensborough Terrace, Bayswater. Rita Marley, vedova di Bob, ha detto: “Mio marito aveva una speciale affinità con Londra. Non vedo l’ ora di vedere la targa la prossima volta che sarò lì. Che Jah vi benedica”.
